Edwidge Danticat has earned many awards including a National Book Award nomination for “Krik? Krak!,” a Woman of Achievement Award from Barnard College, a 1999 American Book Award for “The Farming of Bones,” and a 2008 National Book Critics Circle Award for “Brother, I’m Dying.” In 2009 she won a prestigious MacArthur Fellowship ("Genius Award").
